Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

Do they invite anyone to beta?

There's been a lot of discussions surrounding if Mythic actually invite people to their beta or not. Many contest winners haven't received their invites yet.Game designer Josh Drescher clears up all the rumors in his blog.

  1. Yes, it’s true. We let some more folks into the WAR Beta.
  2. Yes, these were people who won contests, attended certain shows, etc.
  3. No, these were not all of the people who won contests, attended certain shows, etc.
  4. No, this is NOT the Guild Beta.
  5. Yes, the Guild Beta is coming.
  6. No, I won’t be offering any information on when or how the next round of invites will go out.
  7. Seriously. Even if I knew, I couldn’t say.
  8. No, we won’t be specifying what metrics were used to choose people for this round (or any round).
  9. No, it’s NOT a vast conspiracy aimed at confusing or punishing you.

Ofc they do. Its just the AoC community representative trolls who are trying to create a ruckus.

I know for a fact that they're inviting people into beta because I just received an email from a friend that he got in yesterday...

Got a mail in my mailbox:
    Congratulations, (hidden)!

We are pleased to invite you to the beta test of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. You will have the opportunity to take part in refining the long-awaited MMO inspired by the legendary Warhammer Fantasy Battle game. Join the army of Order or the army of Destruction, explore the lands, undertake quests, fight in RvR combat and share your opinions to help us improve the game.

As a beta test player, you will have extended access to the website http://www.war-europe.com/. Before that however, you need to log in with the same login and password you use to log in to the game. The username you have chosen will be displayed openly but your login and password must remain confidential.

    For recall
    Your login is: (hidden)

Now you can log in to the test server. To install the game’s beta client, you need to log onto the website and go to the download section where as well as having the game client, you can also find the downloading help page. Next, log on with your login and password.

Please remember that in order to take part in the beta test you must comply with the non-disclosure agreement. Go to http://www.war-europe.com/ to read it and accept it. You will only be able to play the beta after doing so. Please read the NDA and the code of conduct carefully. Should you breach the NDA, you will be banned and possibly taken to court.

Now, welcome to the game and see you soon in the Old World!

I put in my beta application in May of 2007. I haven't been invited yet.
The closer they get to release though the more people they'll invite so I wouldn't give up hope.

I can't get over how people think they deserve a beta invite when the majority of beta players are not there to test and report bugs. Instead they complain about broken things and tell everyone the game is horrible, which of course is not the reason for having open and closed betas. I am glad they are better selecting those they give beta access to as it will result in a better polished game for everyone in the end.

I got my beta invite last week, I signed up literally the day beta signups went up so it did take along time

I originally applied for Beta during the summer of 07. Over time I updated my dxdialog file maybe 5 or 6 times and was active in submitting entries into their different contests.

I received my invite 3 weeks ago.

So yes, they do send out invites.
