Throw us Role Players a Bone from the official forums, James answers a role player's plight:

Quote:

Hey all,
Spoke to our animators, we're working to get additional emotes like /sit, kneel, sleep etc.

There are some technical snags that cause unwanted bugs (such as sleeping while fighting O_o) and we have to continue to iron them out from an engineering side of things.

We'll continue to work to add in actual animations to go with /slash commands but it requires a lot of time and energy to get it built in to every race1ff8 and model.

Look forward to more sneaking in overtime as we get them done, thanks all

So looks like the animators have been working on some additions to the emotes and animations. Good to know.

Around the Net

Paul Barnett on Youtube today goes over two lists he's been given the assignment to create at his developer conference; Historically Significant Games Designers Should Know and Games that Deveoplers Should Currently Be Playing. This was done to show the various aspects of design.

Anyhow, historically went from Zelda to Brainage to Starfox, and have to agree with most of them. The should be category had something from almost every genre from Rock Band 2 to Street Fighter IV. The only blaringly lacking category was an MMO...guess he must be saving that for WAR.
