As a lot of people seem to be a little confused over this I'm going to post up some quick Q&As. If you have other questions then please post them below and I'll try to answer them, please don't post anything else other than questions in this thread so that it's easy to find the important info.

Q: I can't log into the site, I get the 'Authentication servers are offline message'

A: Yes, you do not need to login to the site to use this page. Simply go to here and fill in your details.

Q: Who can use that page?

A: Anyone who already has a beta centre account - this means anyone who created an account to apply for the closed beta or to recieve the newsletter even if they didn't get a closed beta invite. In addition, anyone who created an account on our site yesterday and has received a confirmation email.

Q: I don't have an account yet, when will I be able to use my key?

A: We are bringing a new account centre online, at the moment we have no ETA for this but we will keep you informed via the news.

Q: I put my details in, now what?

A: All you need to do now is to wait for an email from us. This email will either confirm that your validation is complete (in which case you can log in and play) or that there was a problem with your details (in which case you need to go back and resubmit your information).

Q: Why are you doing it this way?

A: To reduce the load on the database server we have an asynchronous system. What this means is that when you put your details in, the system will store it, another system will then check it and confirm the details to you. This means the whole system is much smoother.

Q: How long before the confirmation emails arrive?

A: This will depend but the current turn around seems to vary between 1 and 2 hours.

Q: Is there a difference between the link posted today and the link posted in the news yesterday?

A: No, both are the same system.

If you have a question that hasn't been answered, head over to Warhammer Alliance and post it!

The lead writer of Warhammer Online - Matt Daniels - tells us a bit about how they work hard on making the game show that there's "War everywhere" (referring to the phrase "War is everywhere!". Matt's job is to provide answers to questions such as why is there war everywhere, how did it get there and more. He tell us about a lot of more things, read on!

War is everywhere!

Here in the halls of EA Mythic, that phrase has become something of a motto. It's also a kind of goal, too; by the time we launch this game and you, the players, get to step into the world we've created, we hope you'll agree that war really is everywhere.

For the Writing Team, that phrase isn't just a destination, but also a point of departure that leads us to many questions. Why is war everywhere? How did it get there? What objectives are the armies of Order and Destruction fighting over? What effect will those battles have on the larger war? Providing the answers is the job of WAR's writers and Content Designers, and the first place we go to get them is the game's backstory.

As you probably already know, a game's backstory helps to establish its setting and give it a sense of history and scope. In most single-player role-playing games, the backstory tells you everything that's happened right up to the point where you start to play the game. Then, you step in and continue that story, taking it in whatever direction you wish. More often than not, you're fighting to resolve a crisis or defeat a villain. By the time you reach the end of the game, you've saved the day.

In a massively multiplayer game like WAR, there isn't going to be just one player, and there isn't really going to be an end, either. The backstory in WAR, then, has a few additional purposes to serve.

Recently a new News article was posted over at the Warhammer Herald, The March of the Raven Host. Warherald covers news from the very front in the Warhammer Online beta and usually recaps it very neatly.

It is a desperate time for the Empire.

While a mysterious plague ravages its populace, a massive warhost of barbaric Northmen launch a ferocious attack across the Empire's northern border. With terrible speed, the invaders storm into Nordland, laying waste to all in their path.

The Emperor summons forth the greatest of his subjects: the Grand Theogonist of the Cult of Sigmar, the Supreme Patriarch of the Colleges of Magic, and the Grand Marshal of the Reiksguard. Together with these advisors, Karl Franz devises a plan to save the Empire.

The Order of the Griffon, an elite military force made up of noble knights, potent Wizards, cunning and lethal Witch Hunters, and fearless, fanatical Warrior Priests, is formed. Receiving their orders directly from the Emperor, the Order's commanders will be free to take any action necessary to protect the Empire from threats originating within, as well as without.

With its ranks filled, the Order of the Griffon is dispatched to Nordland. Their mission is simple, but vitally important: take command of the Nordland provincial army, and organize the Empire's defenses before the invading warhost completely ransacks the province.

Meanwhile, the mystery of the plague still lingers. If the members of the Order do not act quickly to solve it, the dread disease will consume the Empire, and any hope of surviving the enemy attack will be lost.
