WarhammerAlliance.com has reached the end of the "Mythic Madness" event with a collision of two powerhouse names. Paul Barnett, Creative Director, and Josh Drescher, Producer, are facing off in the last round of voting which promises to be a very close matchup!

Here's the Mythic Madness Update from WarhammerAlliance:

Well, it's finally here - the Mythic Mini March Madness Championship match! Worlds will be made, triumphs and defeat shall be felt, and much Bacon will be eaten in this, the match to determine the 2009 Mythic Mini-March Madness Champion!

Let's take a last look at our two gladiators:

(1) Paul Barnett has long since been the personable, boisterous, and energetic spokesperson for WAR and its best features. As Mythic's Creative Director, Paul drives vision, concepts, and ideas into concrete mechanics and whether it is through Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, or Youtube, the face of Paul Barnett is well-known among WAR fans. Paul's numerous quotables have been among some of the most prolific of WAR's development.

Paul defeated 3 of Mythic's finest to get to this match - Ci-Ci Thomson, Adam Gershowitz, and the VP/GM himself, Mark Jacobs, en route to this finale.

(1) Josh Drescher, Producer for WAR, is a self-described "handyman", and he's responsible for the flow and pace of WAR's development. The way Josh ensures that things are going smoothly and all six cylinders are firing is to facilitate the communication between the various teams and developers for WAR, troubleshoot issues and problems, and get everyone working in a coherent, efficient machine. Josh is also one of the most prolific WAR developers in online circles, whether that is through his blog, Tumblr, or through the never-ending quest for more Twitter followers (go go 700!).

Josh did a very recent interview with Syp of the WAAAGH! blog (now since transplanted to Bio Break) regarding WAR.

Josh's road to the championship went through Bruce MacLean, Carrie Gouskos, and a hard-fought victory over The Hickman.

The WarhammerAlliance.com "Mythic Madness" contest has two more matches remaining! Today Jeff Hickman faces off against Josh Drescher, and the winner of this match will face Paul Barnett in the final round! The poll is currently about tied 26 to 24 with Jeff Hickman slightly in the lead! Head on over to the Official Mythic Madness Poll and cast your vote!

(1) Jeff Hickman is Executive Producer for WAR, and besides playing the detail-oriented straight man to Paul Barnett's energetic statements and quotes, he's responsible for the overall strategic design and vision for the game. While that seems like a lot of signoffs and approvals, Jeff's dedication and leadership to ensuring that WAR's gameplay is both fun and engaging to players is, except to his fellow Mythic workers, second to none. Jeff is affectionately referred to as "The Hickman" in community circles, not for any particular reason as to simply sound humorously epic. Jeff threatened to be upset by Jess Folsom in the last round, but pulled ahead in the latter half of the voting day to win by 57%

WarhammerAlliance.com has been running the "Mythic Madness" contest now for a few weeks, and we've seen lots of fan favorites come and go, awesome underdog stories, and some super smack-downs. We have come to the end of the event with the final four! For this weeks event we're watching Mark Jacobs face off against Paul Barnett, who will win? You decide!

At last, the Final Four of the tournament is here. There's not a Cinderella in sight as our four number 1 seeds have made it all the way here. But today, one of them goes home while the other moves on to the Championship!

(1) Mark Jacobs has been, for years, one of the most recognizable faces of Mythic. As the VP/GM, he has led his development team to critical success in Dark Age of Camelot, and now, with Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Mark's outspoken passion and hands-on interaction with the community has been well-known, and love him or hate him, he is a visible force to be reckoned with in this tournament. In the last round, Mark was triumphant over James Nichols with a 63% majority.
