BottomsUp simply moves the chat edit box from the bottom of the main chat box to the top and removes the social button.

    Love this mod, but I do have one complaint...
    Occasionally the input bar will work itself behind the chat tabs which can make typing a huge pain. Any way you could designate the input to always be on top?

    Simply registering the editbox with the editor without setting anchors should be enough. But if it still resets, then it's attached to the bug with chat box positioning and not much can be done unless you save and set it's position manually. I've been dealing with this with the chat window with my project, so you're not alone.

    I did it the second way with BottomsAnywhere. It is a huge pain in the butt. Although it looks like that Chatty Cathy mod re-parented it to a separate frame that was registered and that seemed to work as well.

    Maybe you can borrow the code from Mini World Map, http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/miniworldmap.aspx. That addon allows you to set different layers, 0-4, somehting that would fix the problem BottomsUp have with being behind the chat tabs.

    Regarding the layers, I tried manually setting them in the addon code and it did nothing. Chat tabs are apparently immune to layers >> Position should be fixable, though.

    To be more clear, i believe that registering the editbox to layout editor is enough to be able to move it around and make it save its place.

    Main reason why the edit box doesn't save up is that you clear its anchors everytime interface is loaded (with /reloadui for example) and then add its anchors to be on top of chat window.

    I understand what you mean, but in testing, this hasn't shown to be the root of the problem. I honestly don't think the game sees the edit box as a real window, which is why it doesn't have a layer position that can be manipulated (eg: the tabs issue) and I have to force it into position (see: BottomsAnywhere when it syndicates).

    Hmm i see. Have you tryed to create and "hidden anchor" window, something along the lines of:

    CreateWindow( movableEditBox, true )
    LayoutEditor.RegisterWindow( "movableEditbox" )
    WindowSetShowing( "movableEditBox", false )

    Then anchoring the editbox to that hidden frame, which should save its options. (didn't remember all the parameters for layout editor registering so i leaved it little "blank")

    Don't know would it work, just something that did come into my mind.

    That was an option that was brought up. I went with manually saving and reinstating the position, which works, but now I can't get the chat box to overtake the edit box's old position like I can in BottomsUp

  • Anyone else get flickering scroll bars and arrows? usually when fighting.
    small annoyance. Nothing major.
    Would be nice either if they stayed there or only show up when you mouse over em.

    Never tried this addon pre-1.0.3 so I'm not sure if its an old issue or somehting new: When you move it with the layout editor and log out, the chat box is back to the default position when you log in again.
