About CharactersViewer (for WAR)

CharactersViewer for Warhammer.

This is the official port(aka complete rewrite) of Charactersviewer is an addons allowing to see information about your Alt Characters (your others characters).

Important: This addon require LibSlash library to work.

To open the addon,

use "/cv"

use "/cv help" for more detail

Major Milestone

Version 1.47 -> Removed NRarity implementation, Nemes will do it directly in NRarity 1.8. Thank's to Nemes for is clever assistance!
Version 1.31 -> Now properly handle people getting out of the game via Slash Command (/logout, /camp, /quit, /exit)
Version 1.30 -> Now support the BankWindow
Version 1.22 -> Now support the BackPack
Version 1.10 -> Now support the complete CharacterWindow (Equipment and Stats)

Installation Guide

Exit "Warhammer Online" completely
Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
  - Windows XP has a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
  - WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
  - WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
Verify your WAR Installation Path
That is where you are running WAR from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
Move to the Addon folder
- Open your Warhammer Online folder. (default is C:\Program Files\Warhammer Online\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
Start Warhammer Online

Translations

When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of WAR. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".

Looks like this is completely broken after last patch. only window that opens is paper doll window and its blank. Bag and bank windows no longer open

I understand you're no longer active in War, but is there anyway to add some script commands? Like a simple /script characterviewer.toggle turning it on or off with one button?

The problem of it not saving seems to be caused by the new profile system.
This creates individual settings for each char.

I fixed the problem by altering where it saves the setting by moving the settings to the global folder:

Editing CharactersViewer.mod and adding global="true" to lines 70 and 71.

Due to the limitations of these comments i can't add the <> into the complete lines, but otherwise they should look like

Doesn't seem to be saving data anymore. Changed a lot of items on other characters and it said saving profile but when I bring it up on other toons the info remains the same as it was.

Look for a .lua file and delete it. It should be in your /user/interface/allcharacters/characterviewer directory, just uninstalling the add-on doesn't delete this file.

It seems there is a problem with the language if it is different from the english version: all profiles saved are cleaned at every logon, so all characters data are lost.

There is a known issue with some non-english client wiping the data.
In fact it's saving it but not reading it on logon.
Since it's the mythic behavior I have no way to fix it.

I lost all my CV setting when my game crashed while logging out, maybe you got the same issue?

you need to relog on them to see them.
I'll also take a look just in case the dropdown behavior (from mythic) was changed to not show more than 5 thing.

I just read your update notes and I noticed you had to put in support for various alternate ways of exiting the game. Well, I exit with /q (allowed by some addon or other). Could THAT be the reason things don't save properly?
