** The original author (BotanicalPuppet) has been gone from the WAR community for 3 months and has no plans to return. **

This addon helps the Chosen player with twisting multiple Chaotic Auras through a single keybinding, activating two or three in succession at regular intervals during combat. After you have set up different hotbar pages with different Aura abilities in a predetermined slot (#1 through #12) of each page (#1 through #5), they show up in the same slot in a single actionbar (such as actionbar2 or actionbar4) where the pages are rotated, allowing a single keybinding for that slot on that actionbar to activate the different Aura abilities on that same slot of different pages. (Watch the vid, you'll get it!)

CurseForge Project Page - submit to the Bug Ticket Tracker first!

...after you've followed all instructions and checked for all known issues.

1-2-3-Go

1. Watch the video (mirror on Google video) and make sure it is something you want and can use.
2. Open the readme.txt for reading and reference while you are getting it working.
3. Once in-game, type "/chosen" and follow the further clues to type "/chosen help", "/chosen usage", "/chosen setbar N", and "/chosen dumpdata". Before actually activating, make sure your hotbar pages are slotted and keys bound as desired.
Go. Activate with the "/chosen start Pg1 Pg2" command. Hit keybinding. Have fun.

Known Issues

1. Will break on loading new zone, such as scenario. Workaround until fix is /reloadui and then /chosen resume.
2. Does not work at all in any client with a localization other than the English one. So no joy for users of the German/French/Spanish/etc. clients at this time.
3. The addon requires the default BuffTrackers window for the player unitframe. That is, you need to be able to see the little buff icons for Auras under your player target. If you don't, reconfigure or uninstall the addon hiding them (e.g. CUF).
4. The correct syntax for a macro is /script slash("chosen resume") regardless of what you saw in the instruction vid.
5. The "resume" command in 1.02 forgets to print a message to chat similar to the "start" command's message. It does activate.
6. The addon's intended functionality is to give you zero alerts while out of combat, with the exception of one upon activation. You won't see or hear all the bells and whistles until you get into combat. It should still rotate hotbar pages out of combat if set up correctly.

Bug Reports and Contact

Please continue to submit bug reports through the bug ticket tracker (e-mail to peterkirby@gmail.com works too...premature curse comments are bad mm'kay). You may also be able to track me down in Warhammer as the character Doomhammer (or, more likely, Doomzealot) on the server Vortex. If so, send me a tell. I am often in #waruidev on irc.freenode.net as BotanicalPuppet and on WarhammerAlliance.com's UI Discussion forum as Doomvortex.

DO NOT waste your time here. go find "Twiser" by aiiane. I loaded it last nite. this is quite possibly the best one of the twister add-ons out there. it does NOT waste several bars like chosen's helper or the new one out there for kbs's, isn't a half-baked single-bar twister like bloodspill, but a real, manageable and useful add-on. Aiiane, you truly outdid yourself on this one. i'm ordering every chosen I see to install Twister. you've made us all very happy. :) <- see? a happy chosen is an effective chosen.

BotanicalPuppet, would it be possible to update this add-on to support the KotBS and his/her battle orders? I have tried to use it both before and after the 1.06 patch. Before, it would give me my six-second warning but not rotate the bar. After, it would tell me that no aura was loaded in the selected spot and just not work.

Patch 1.06 changed the behaviour of GetBuffs() so this addon won't work as intended until updated.

  • I've been trying this on my baby Knight and it doesn't want to auto switch taskbars. Is this something that will need to be added by yourself?

  • I've got it to work just as described with my knight - after a quick little edit.

This is a very nice addon, like planB for auras :)

Really hope there is a work around instead of constantly doing a /reloadui when zoning in and out of scenarios. Even if there isn't thats ok too, good job man!

What did you change to make it work for the KOTBS? Do you mind posting your changes?

Thanks for this, i've tryed the old fashioned method up until now (rank35) but it's just to much stress on my wrist (old injury)and I noticed theres no option in macros to put up chainskills, so THANK YOU for this!

Got it working 1st try, just took alittle while of reading before.
The "scenario bug" actually screwed up the entire addon, i had to /addon and disable it, then reload (reloadui wasnt enough) so here's what I do, before i go into scenarios i type /chosen stop, and then i simply dont use it in PvP cause i think in pvp you should do things the old fashion way as much as possible =)
Everytime you die in scenarios the addon bugs out aswell.
When im out of scenario i just type /chosen resume and it works like a charm.

  • i do a /reloadui after zoning. Then I use the '/chosen resume' macro to restart the addon each time i die. Works without fail

  • You've clearly put a lot of time into this. And I'm not knocking you. But I
managed to achieve the same thing by using a timed macro on my Merc Stealth keyboard. Took me 2 minutes to do.

Not the whole truth. It worked in one scenario ones. Then it worked in orvr once. It's random haha. Problem problem... Anyway, thanks for the twister!

  • er, i meant aura's not mods in the previous post

  • Also, I'd just like to say, an easy way to 'remove' all your mods, when you want to walk through Orange mobs or something, is just 'double' click your keybind. It puts on your new aura, but puts it on CD (the double click, turns it on, then instantly turns it off). I've found it quite handy. :)

  • Fantastic mod. Set up was annoying (not hard, just not used to that much set up for a mod :p ) but once I got it working, it's exactly what I'm after, ty!

  • The addon appears to be bugging up whenever I try using it in Scenarios. It just turns on and off a single aura. When I leave the scenario, this repeats itself. Relogging fixes it.
