This Warhammer Online mod is intended as a tool to help players select targets during confusing engagements. One of the major issues with combat is that, during the press of battle, it becomes difficult to accurately select and target an enemy player in game space.
The idea here is to create a visual list of enemy contacts, represented as a health bar with a name and level indicator for each contact, which would be much easier to click on when compared to a moving actor in game space. The list is populated by "sweeping" the mouse over targets in world space. As you mouse over each target, their information is added to the list. This also provides a better view of enemy status than simply watching a mass of them move about.
Currently this is in early beta phase and very buggy.
Usage:
- Install the mod to your interface/addons folder.
- Use the customize interface option to move the DCL Radar Frame to where you want the list of targets to appear
- Whenever you mouse over an enemy player, a little bar will appear with their name, level and health will appear.
- These bars disappear after a while, the square to the right of the bar indicates staleness (brighter squares mean more recent data)
- You current target's bar is border highlighted
- Left click a bar to target that player (well, attempt to)
- Right click a bar to remove it
Removed fading of bars.
All purpose "status" indicator square added to the right of each target frame.
DeftContactList.SetPrimary() to set your current target as primary.
DeftContactList.TargetPrimary() to target your set primary target.
Installation Guide
- Exit "Warhammer Online" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP has a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Verify your WAR Installation Path
That is where you are running WAR from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your Warhammer Online folder. (default is C:\Program Files\Warhammer Online\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start Warhammer Online
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of WAR. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
