Description

HealGrid is an addon which focuses on giving you a comprehensive overview of the state of units. This is achieved by intelligently structured grids of the primary units (avatar, pet, targets) and the group, warband and scenario groups. This is further enhanced by ClickCasting, SpellTracking and other utilities, which enables you to quickly react on any given situation. The frames are fully skin-able, various skins are provided and also a SkinEditor is included to modify all and every aspect of existing skins for ultimate customization. Despite its name, HealGrid is not only suited for Healers but by its

Installation

The preferred way of installation is via the Curse client. Just click the "install via curse client" button above. All dependencies will then be automatically installed for you. If you manually install HealGrid, make sure that you first completely remove the HealGrid-folder in your addon-folder. There is no need anymore to install separate or external packages, as everything you need will be in the download.

Customize layout

To move the windows around, just use the in-game layout editor, accessible by "Customize User Interface". Note that the frames are behind the center dialog, so you have to move this away first!

For other customization options just click the HealGrid mini-icon (a square with HG printed inside) next to the map. If you have LibSlash installed you can also type "/healgrid" to bring up the GUI.

Skins can be adjusted with the SkinEditor, included in the GUI.

More than unitframes

  • Click-Casting: Assign spells and macros to mouse-button and key-modifier combinations to use them with a single click.
  • Spell-Tracking: Track Buffs, Debuffs HealOverTime (HOT) and distinguish between your buffs and buffs cast by someone else.
  • Range Checking: Intelligent range checking with unit-highlighting.

Internationalization and Localization

Although I develop on the German game client, the addon should work on any client. It might be that not all texts and messages are in your local language though.

Known pitfalls

  1. If you cannot click the units, then the window is most likely hidden behind another (invisible) frame (e.g. Message frame). Go to the layout editor and double check.
  2. If you cannot see the frames in the layout editor, move aside the center configuration window.

    NOOOOoo, this is terrible news!

    HealGrid was simply the best healer mod, bar none. Thank you for working on it, and keeping it updated. Maybe it will make an appearance in some future MMO.

    Thanks again. :P

    I would like to inform you that I have ceased development on this Addon, as I no longer player Warhammer online. I really enjoyed the time creating and extending this addon, and want to thank you, the community, for your input, feedback and most of all showing your interest by using HealGrid.

    The addon will stay online, however there is the risk that one of the future patches will break the functionality. I therefore suggest that everyone should look for an alternative to not end up with an unusable mod which breaks his or her game experience.

    If anyone would like to take over development and maintenance of this addon, please let me know so that we can arrange access.

    Thanks to everyone for your support and have a good time playing WAR !

    Heya found a bug, some players that are dead, are not dead? the static of players are sometimes bugged very frustrating to heal or res some one that is not dead:) hope you can fix this problem:)

    The problem is that there is no 100% certain way to detect if a player/mob is dead or not. The only way is to check, if the hitpoint percentage is 0 (zero). However, hit point percentages are rounded values, so if a player has say 3 hp (absoulute), this will be reported as 0% health if the player has 600 hp or more. There are talks to always round up hit points, which would fix this problem - but might propably introduce others. Anyway, the original WAR interface is suffering of the same problem.

    I think that this is a 1.3.1 bug. I've got this bug and I'm not using HealGrid.

    Every once in awhile I lose all of my settings and have to reset everything. It appears almost random. I've started making a copy of my SavedVariables.lua so I can just re-copy it back when it resets to defaults.

    Could you add a feature to export the settings to another file and be able to import them later from within the addon?

  • I'm trying to find a unit frames that doesn't involve clicking on to fade it or do a los check and I tried this one and I couldn't figure out how to do that in here but to be honest not sure if you can any ideas if you will make that able to or even if it's possible?

    Just returned from holidays. I will provide a fix for the "savesettings" soon.

    As for the problems with the skin editor: do you get any error messages, eg. in the debug window? Which settings exactly do not show up in the right-hand window and/or are not applied on save?

    Cannot really desribed the errors since I get for every item on the left side an error.

    They are different though, depending if they is a table in there or not.

    Just updated to the latest version, and still having problems with the skin editor.

    Haven't noticed any error messages, but I don't actually know where the debug window is so wouldn't be able to tell you if any have appeared there.

    The following settings do not appear in the right-hand window:
    *The 'parent' settings in the HUD tree (anything below 'HUD' with a +)
    *Hud -> Buffs
    *Grid -> UnitFrame, although the settings below this level work
    *Grid -> PetFrame
    *Any occurrence of 'SpellTrack1' and 'SpellTrack2'

    I'm aware that some of these do not have settings attached, but I can't remember which ones as it's been a while since I had to use the skin editor.

    No settings are saved at all. Presumably the correct way to use the editor is
    * Load Skin
    * Make a single change, then click 'Set'
    * Once everything is changed, click 'Save' then 'Save' again to view the changes

    When I click Save for the second time (in the window that opens after click the first save button), the grid appears to refresh, but no changes are made. The settings remain changed in the skin editor, however. I have a screenshot showing an obvious change to a skin, and the grid failing to show the update which I would be happy to e-mail to you if it helps at all.

    several problems with HealGrid and the skin editor in 1.3.1:

    * Some members of the warband have no class icons next to the name. This seems to be a problem with the UI itself though, as the icons are also missing from the default warband frames and other addons
    * Changes made to skins in the skin editor do not take effect when saved, and some settings do not show up in the right-hand window (specifically, the width/height settings for unit frames in the grid tree)
    * Attempting to load a skin that has been modified (for me it is the skin "Wide - Medium" causes a crash to desktop
    * Window positions are not saved after logging, although this issue has already been raised

  • I have two issues right now. First , whenever i switch to an alt character ,that does not have healgrid enabled (isnt a healer) and then back to my archmage - i lose all of my settings for clicking heals. I have to reselect everything each time and its starting to become irritating. it only happens if i change what mods are enabled on a different character. IE if i have 2 alts and dont change anything it should stay. but if i change whats enabled on alt 1 (like turning off healgrid on that character) i lose all my settings. Can you maybe enable some kind of profile for healgrid? so i can just load saved settings from a file each time instead of having to keep redoing them?

    second i lose all of my list settings as well randomly. like sort by careers for warbands and sort by group/vertical for scenario.

    hmm thinking about it , it does fall into number one in some ways.
