IHYTM or I Hate You This Much

... is a simple aggro meter that uses a hidden chat channel to broadcast updates to other group members with IHYTM on how much aggro they have built over the course of the fight with a monster.

Currently, the mod is in beta and the number value displayed for aggro is a close approximation to what it's true aggro is. This mod is never going to be 100% accurate as there are certain limitations in place, such as:

  • Guard aggro is funneled from the guarded target to the guarder. There is no way to figure out the distance (to my knowledge) so IHYTM assumes the guard target is ALWAYS in the guard range of 30ft.
  • IHYTM does not take item hate decreases or increases but it does detect tactics and certain skills that lower threat generated.
  • IHYTM will not work well unless your entire group has the mod. Some buffs, like guard, transfer hate and it requires the person being guarded to have IHYTM for accuracy.
  • Aggro is tracked by monster name so in the case of multiple monsters with the same name it will treat them all as a "group" and when one dies the aggro resets again.
  • AOE abilities, like Challenge, are considered hitting everything in the aggro tables. This means if you challenge a group of monsters that are not yet on the aggro tables it will only count for the one you are targeting. If you only hit one monster out of all the ones in the aggro table, IHYTM will still assume you hit them all as this cannot be tracked client side through the UI (to the best of my knowledge, at this state of the game).

How to:

  • Slash command /ihytm to bring up valid commands.
  • When you join a party with IHYTM enabled you will send the [IHYTM: JOIN] message and if the leader has IHYTM, he/she will send the [IHYTM: SYNC] message and all group members with the mod enabled will join the same IHYTM channel for the group.
  • When you leave a group or someone else sends the sync command you will automatically leave the old channel and join the new one.
  • You can manually leave, join, or sync channels through slash commands.
  • The IHYTM window will only display for your enemy target's aggro and will only pop up if there is aggro being tracked
  • The window is moveable through the layout editor and by default, placed right next to the default enemy target window.
  • There is a 'reset' command for boss fights that reset aggro, this must be manually pressed at such events for an accurate reading. It can be bound inside a macro for ease of use.

Thanks for your interest and let me know if you encounter problems or have a suggestion.

Currently, IHYTM only works on the English version of the game.

Does this work with Patch v1.3? I haven't noticed whether it does or not, however I do hate that it's fallen victim to the save options changes and the window moved to default upon every login.

It still works for the English client. Updated recently to save the window position.

Only thing that I can think about improving this would be finding some way to make the agro go between individual mobs, in the way that Omen does. Just think it would help out a lot, as I'm a KotBS.

I have to parse the combat log for the aggro information I need. Additionally, I would need to do this for every language the game is released in.

    Does not sound fun. :(

  • We used the german fix now (from curseforge ticket) and were happy as hell when we saw it poppin up in fight..

Then we figured out that only the tank is displayed and only whenever he taunts :(

    Any clue?

The only skills which prolly work so are those which are hardcoded (and changed into german) in the lua file :(((((

Skills and the words I search for when I parse the combat log have to be changed, as well as the length of those words in German needs to be specified in wstring.find.

I get the /IHYTM message on load, and the help list, reset also shows as active. but /ihytm join and sync do nothing, and it does not report aggro to me or party members

Was working fine 2 days ago until I installed curse client. Have tried uninstalling all mods and running with just this and libslash, no luck. :/

Are there other verions to try just incase?

Just downloaded the new one (with test), test displays the window fine.

But join/sync do nothing, and attacking mobs solo doesn't display the window either.

    :S

  • IHYTM:JOIN works
    IHYTM:SYNC works (automatically)

Popup of the Window + Something that seems to track aggro -> Doesnt work..

    Any suggestions? :/

(All Partymember had the Addon installed)

You have to target the monster you want the aggro of. The window should appear right next to the Enemy Target window.

Works fine for the people I had test it and for me as well.

Updated the mod with the '/ihytm test' command to help you see where the window will pop up. Hope this helps.

  • Helps a lot ty.
I moved the window with the Layout editor.

The /IHYTM test works finde and I see the Aggro Bars movin around..
Sad thing is that whenever I join a party (for testing that addon for xample)
I receive the JOIN and I send the SYNC (automatically),
we target 1 Enemy (for sure the same one),
the friendly Target starts to attack,
(I got the HT and the FT (group member who got IHYTM, too) selected),

but we both DON'T see the window poppin' up then :(
