I installed this and KeepTracker and got huge lag spikes in scenarios. I was in 5-6 different scenarios several occasions during two days. Uninstalled both and lag spikes was gone. Too bad, I liked the addons.

I created a new addon using your code. It's called KeepTracker and can be seen here: http://war.curseforge.com/projects/keeptracker
I kinda took your idea and expanded a little bit on it, graphically.

It's still in Alpha, you can't blank out tiers or enemy keeps yet, but let me know if you want to maybe copy some code over to your project and keep working on it.

Would be nice if the chat window text showed which realm currently owns the keep. I like to see when enemy keeps are under attack as well, so I have the option turned off to only alert me to our keeps. When I type /kw to get an instant status check, I don't always know which ones are ours unless I remember the state it was last time I checked the map.

Looking at the code, this is a pretty easy feature that I will probably hack in myself, but you might consider adding it as well.

Hm, it just seems to spam the monitored keeps upon login, but never again. Is it ever going to be dynamic and alert the user when a keep is attacked?

Hi all! I have had some PC problems and have therefore been slow getting to an update, but I'm happy to announce that Keep Watcher 0.5 is here now!

Pistoleer, Pasoa: You'll be happy to know that the previously promised alerts are here! You should notice them as soon as you log in once you've installed the new version.

Ingwar: This version will alert you of changes when you log on and again every minute, so give it a try and let me know if a window would still be useful to you... As for whether all keep status are being used, It seems that they are not at the moment. I'm currently only reporting information that Mythic stores. They have the ability to store that information, so my addon is designed to make use of it if Mythic decides to populate it. I'm considering doing something to update these fields myself, but nothing I could do would be a perfect (or even consistent) solution.

Takabru: Adding this information as a tooltip to the HUD? That's a great idea! I'll look into it for a future release.

risingashes: I originally added the realm limit just to keep the amount of information from disorienting me and just kept it in because... well, I'm not sure why. But truthfully it's been bothering me as well. So I added a configuration option for this release which allows you to specify whether you want only your realm keep information or all keep information. I wouldn't mind updating this for a future release to be able to specify Order or Destruction keeps (or both).

I hope that answers all your questions! Please leave any comments or suggestions for improvements. I promise I'll read them and I'll try to respond! :)

Definitely needs it's own window as it gets lost among ability spam and other notices. Also to cut down on data and spam it should only display those that are under threat and not keeps that are safe.

  • Would it be possible to provide an option to show when enemy keeps change status as well?

This addon comes close to what I was looking for with the Campaign Status HUD you can activate from the Map. If all this information could be added to a ToolTip for the Capaign Status HUD that would rock. For Tiers 2 and 3 icons or labels could be added to keep track of them too.

Since I hit t4 I like to keep the campaign status HUD up but its a pain to have to go to the MAP all the time to see whats under attack or where the action is.

This would be of great assistance to faster response times to Order/Destruction attacks.

Really really usefull and needed addon.

Mayby you could make keep status in way like CombatLog Mod makes it.
Window witch small button to hide/show it.
Because writing /kw every minute is really annoying.

ps. Is KeepStatus showing all statuses? I mean "Under Attack! (Outer Walls)" and "Under Attack! (Inner Sanctum)" cause i saw only "Safe" and "Under Attack! (Keep Lord)"

Felyza: I'm glad I could help! I tried looking for that string you wanted, but I still haven't found it... Anyway, I think my way is better because it doesn't require you to intercept the message. Well, may the best mod win :)

kiersteadmo: With version 0.3, you can type '/kw' and keep watcher will display a list of keeps owned by your realm followed by a line which states how many keeps your realm owns. You can now also type '/kw config' to reduce the output to a specific Tier or Tiers. My next release will allow it to broadcast to your notification area.

That came across harsh... I apologize. Thank you for the wonderful start, you'll have competition with it. With you showing me how I don't need to trigger every time, I can now get underway with my project that I've been trying to get strings to regex for days (Even offered 10g for the strings... http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125322). Hopefully with competition on this, we'll both strive to make the better addon, bringing the best possible solution to the public.

I've been trying to get my hands on the text strings for a few days. Thanks for the mod. I'm continuing with my idea anyway.
