Tired of the built-in quest tracker? Want more customization options? Want to click through the quests to target mobs and object behind the tracker? Install Kwestor!

Kwestor is a widely customizable quest tracker, built to replace the built-in tracker. It allows you to

  1. filter quests depending on zone, RVR status, status and more
  2. enables fully customizable sorting of the tracked quests
  3. auto hiding of quest conditions
  4. layout customization, including various colors, fonts and alignment
  5. ability to select objects "behind" the quest tracker frame
  6. easy access to full quest description in the tome

To get a brief quest description (tooltip), mouse over the icon next to the quest. Left click the icon next to the quest to open the tome, centered on the quest. Click again to close. Left-click the Nub (Toggle) to hide/show the quest list. Right click the nub to open the configuration window of Kwestor. Shift-left click to open the WAR built-in quest list. You can also type "/kwestor" in the chatline to open the customization window.

The built-in WAR quest tracker will be hidden by default, when installing Kwestor. You can open it at any time via the nub-toggle (shift-left click).

I would like to inform you that I have ceased development on this Addon, as I no longer player Warhammer online. I really enjoyed the time creating and extending this addon, and want to thank you, the community, for your input, feedback and most of all showing your interest by using Kwestor.

The addon will stay online, however there is the risk that one of the future patches will break the functionality. I therefore suggest that everyone should look for an alternative to not end up with an unusable mod which breaks his or her game experience.

If anyone would like to take over development and maintenance of this addon, please let me know so that we can arrange access.

Thanks to everyone for your support and have a good time playing WAR !

As this is replacement for default "EA_Window_QuestTracker" and "EA_Window_QuestTrackerNub" i suggest unregistering these two windows from LayoutEditor.

Unfortunately this is not possible, as Kwestor builds on, extends and reuses functionallity of the default tracker. Tip: you can also open the default tracker by shift-left-clicking the nub.

When you unregister window from the LayoutEditor, the window still exists. Unregistering does nothing more than just hide this window from the LayoutEditor.

BTW I did this change in my local copy and Kwestor still works ;-).

As I said, by shift-left-clicking the nub you will open the original tracker. If you do not mind to lose this functionallity and do not mind the error message you would get if still doing it, you might be able to unregister the original tracker, as I think the quest-tracker-nub is in a separate module (which you must not unregister or you lose the nub).

Just release v2.0.6. You can now give an alpha for the quest-texts (default 70%) and a different alpha (default 100%) if you mouse over the icon associated with the quest. Please note that you have to mouse over the quest icon, mousing over the quest text is not enough to high light it! This is due to limitations of the game API.

    Happy Questing!

Any chance of getting a "fade out to alpha% until mouseover then fade in to alpha%" option for the main window? Or even just "transparent-til-mouseover" would be great!

    Great mod anyway! Thanks!

This is an EXCELLENT idea! I will add this to my TODO. However, I already foresee some problems: Currently the frames (text) does not react to mouse events to allow click-through, so it will most likely also not detect mouse-over events. Thus, I might have limit this to the hover over the icon. But still, I like this very much.

I, probably obviously, prefer a minimal UI which ideally shows me information only when I /need/ to see it. Of course the nub can provide this, but mouseover is so much more convenient. ;)

Anyway, glad you like the idea. And thanks again...your work makes my UI better and is appreciated.

Could you please add a profile ability? Something so we can easily load the settings for our other characters. Thanks for a great mod :)

Released v2.0.2, which adds RMetLib again to the (manual) download. So you no longer need to install separate/external packages, everything will be included in the downloaded file.
Remark: You might get "RMetLib already exists" warnings. Just ignore them, the game will automatically load the correct files on startup.

Patch notes for WAR v1.3 (Currently on test server):
The ability to track waypoints on the main map has been expanded to allow markers for up to forty quests simultaneously, as applicable. This brings the ability to display markers in-line with the increased quest capability added recently.

Kwestor will automatically adapt to these changes. The < and > will stay in place though to indicate quests which you intentionally clicked off. Thanx to Silverel who saved me a lot of work to adjust Kwestor with his pointer to the patch notes!

I've had a hell of a time showing quests in certain areas, for example gunbad. And is there an adjustment coming for when all 40 quests can be shown on the map tacker?

I did some testing and I might now understand what you mean:
In WAR you can have max 40 quests in the journal, but only max 20 quests can be shown on the overland-map at any time. Which quests are shown on the overland map are selected in the journal (with or without Kwestor installed). The problem now is, that the code to select quests for showing on the overland map is buggy, as it lets you select more than 20 quests. But still only the "first" 20 quests are shown on the overland map. If you reload the interface (or log out and back in), you will see that again only 20 quests are selected for being shown on the overland map. This part of the code is provided by Mythic and I cannot directly change it. So please post a message about this on the official forums, contact customer service ingame or create a bug message in game. I am very sorry for this and I got confused by this too, but Mythic has to fix this (by either allow more than 20 quests shown on the overland map or make a more intelligent select procedure).

I do not know if I understand you correctly. Do you want to show more than 20 quests on the tracker or on the overland map?

Released v2.0.0. It now highlights quests which are not drawn on the map by enclosing them with <>. So this gives you these possibilities for a quest
    quest = normal, tracked quest
[quest] = quest is locked on the tracker (ALWAYS shown, ignoring filters)
< quest > = quest now shown on overland map
[< quest >] = quest locked and not show on overland map

NOTE: I had to add spaces to make it show up correctly in this posting.

Howzabout a button to easily share quests with your party?
Is just an idea, don't know if it's of any use to anyone really, but it would seem handy in some cases.
