Description


Library for data synchronization

Global channel for order = LibSync1
Global channel for destruction = LibSync2

Local channel for order = LibSync1_{zone}
Local channel for destruction = LibSync2_{zone}

Guild specific channel = LibSync_{guildname}

Please note that versions V0.4 and above are not compatible with lower versions.
Please note that versions V0.5 and above are not compatible with lower versions.

Troubleshooting

if your have troubles with LibSync please try to join the Global Synchronizationchannel manually with the command:

/channeljoin {channel}

if this ist not working then try:

/channel {channel}

if this ist not working then:

remove all other addons


and try it again.

if this is also not working you have to find out why "/channeljoin" and "/channel" is not working.
Theese are warhammer online standard functions.

You only have 9 channels; if all of this 9 channels are used then you have to free 2 channels with the command "/channelleave {name}".

for thoose who have chat problems/lags it is possible to disable the datasynchromization with:

/libsync disable

    I still do not get a few things about the addon...

    1) Why does engine_in.lua not handle LIBSYNC_LEVEL_GUILD_GLOBAL??

    2) Line 39 in engine_out.lua is LibSync.LocalChannelNum correct or did you mean LibSync.ChannelNum??

    3) Is it possible to get rid of all the spam that the game creates when joining the channels? I disabled some of the spam your addon creates, but there is even more that's generated... any way around that?

    4) Still looking for a config option that makes libsync just join ONE channel specified by my addon.

    at first i want to thank you for your input.

    I will make the corrections for 1) and 2) in V0.61.

    One of the next realeases will contain the change to a separate guild-specific channel.
    LibSync will only connect the NEEDED channels in the future.
    And last but not least you will be able to register for your own channel.
    If you want to use guild specific synchronization you can do this after my corrections, because the new guild-channel will not affect the interface.

    But i do not know what you mean when you speak of SPAM?
    The only reason for a new startup(spam) should be the change of the zone and this is nescessary because i need to change the local channel in this case.

    ..and that happens quite a lot.

    The other messages I disabled, the addon will normally say:

    LibSync is starting
    ChatChannel [3]-LibSyncX
    ChatChannel [4]-LibSyncX_xxx
    LibSync LocalChannel=3
    LibSync GlobalChannel=4
    LibSync has started

    and that happens quite a lot too. :P

    Ideally your addon would not say ANYTHING (other than may "Starting..." one time and hide the chat messages it produces...

    Those chat messages make addon users nervous... no idea why. :P

    I do not want a realm wide channel cause it will just cause unnecessary lag, so I really want LibSync to create a guild / ally / friends (maybe some at the same time) channel based on the guild name or whatever the user enters in my addons config as a channel name.

    That would be great, that would prevent people from having to copy LibSync functionality over to their own addon code and make it truly a reusable library.

    To make it more clear, I really need to set the actual chat channel name, I know LibSync can already use different channels for different groups like guild, local etc., but I really need control over which channels it joins.

    Is it normal for this addon to spam your chat channels? Channel [4] - Libsync2_6 and that chat channel doest not exist and libsync localchannel=4 and libsync is started etc..this happens all the time and spams my chat window.

    I think i found out what the problem is:
    the realms "order" and "destruction" are not able to have the same chat channel named LibSync.
    I changed the channelname to "LibSync{realm}" so that order will have the channelname "LibSync1" and destruction "LibSync2"
    I hope that solves the problem.

    I think I have found something. I've made a char on another server than the one I have all my chars, and LibSync works. So, it seems that it is a server-side problem.

    I dont use "channeljoin" addon.

    Like you've asked, I've totally removed all addons but LibSync (I've cleaned \user directory too, and I've got the same problem.
    I can join every custom channel I want, but if I try with the word "LibSync", no response at all.

    Very weird :)
