Configuring

LootBrag allows, with a single click, to post all the stats of any item into your current chat input box, allowing you to append to a current chat message or modify the message before sending. New Enhancment: Uses an embeded LibItem now to get all the item data.

Features:

  • Works with items in most windows, doesn't work with items in action bar.
  • Most (all?) items supported.
  • Will show potion Use: text with correct values and time durations
  • Shows most stats all items.
  • Shows crafting types and required levels
  • Shows number of enhancement slots
  • etc, shows almost all info a tooltip for an item does.

Requires LibSlash Use /lbsettings to configure a mouse/key binding. To map aux mouse buttons try setting it up with a macro.

To create with a macro, create a macro with: /script slash("lb")


Place the macro in an out of the way action button location and macro that location. I use shift-middle click. Then whenever your mouse icon is hovering over an item shift-middle click will post the stats of the item into the current chat box, appending to any existing text if any. Then you can add or modify the string before sending it out.

This first release supports crafting items, weapons, armor, potions, and should support any others! Now configure your binding with the settings window. More new features to come.

Known limitations:

  • Tailsman's are not listed, it would make the chat line too long in most cases, but it is plan to make that configurable later.
  • Charges left not listed.
  • Items which have a "use" other then potions may not work, haven't had an item to test this with.
  • Using the special meta click in a bag when it is over the chat windows causes chat lock/unlock menu to show

    The bug is not posting your Items in the Chat. For example, i want to split my Elixiers, wont work anymore, the Ingame Window to split is not popping up.

    P.S. So with Patch 1.1 we dont need this Addon anymore, because Mythic gets an Option to Link Items in the Chat. But thx anyway.

    I found a bug, if it is nothing new for you?! If you use LootBrag you cant split your items in your inventory anymore.

    I really like this mod, it makes it easier to ask the guild if anyone wants a certain item.. but. You can't use Magical Salvaging on items when this mod is in place.

    Thank you for reporting the issue. Is this true no matter what clicky binding you have it on? What are the steps you use for salvaging? I have magical salvaging with of my characters and I haven't ever had an issue, but I will test it with some alternate configurations. My binding is just "alt" with no clicky (so all clicks work if I hold down alt). Please fill out a ticket and answer those questions and it would help me fix any issue you have discovered.

    1.3-RC2 out! Fixes toolbars sometimes sticking around issue, fixes Agoknee's issue (thanks for the debugging help Agoknee) and based on some feedback by Agoknee now when posting an item to existing chat text it will not highlight all the text, but put the text cursor at the end of the chat line.

    Beeblebrox: I had some time to do more testing. Using the latest 1.3 beta, I still can't link something mid-sentence. If I type /say blah .. then use my lootbrag binding before hitting enter, it clears out the 'blah' from the input box and doesn't add any item stats. If the input box is not open and I hit the binding, it properly pastes the item stats into the input box. I tried disabling every mod I have except LibSlash and LootBrag and it still doesn't work correctly. I tried clicking on items in both my backpack and in the player stats window. I tried shift-leftclick, shift-middleclick, alt-middleclick, and ctrl-middleclick. They all behave the same. Any more ideas for me to try to narrow down the issue?

    Agoknee have you tried 1.3c? I can get it to work fine... Are you chatting in /say or /tell or what? I did notice that sometimes there is really odd behavior if your backup window and the item you use is over the chat window, so try moving the bag.

    I'll keep trying to reproduce the issue you are seeing.. but I haven't been able to yet.

    Anyone else see this issue?

    i have done as explained, i believe lol, and made a macro with the /script slash("lb") command in it. Then put it on my skill bar. After that i went into key bindings menu and did a bind of my middle mouse button, the wheel, to the spot where i put the macro.
    After having done this i cannot drag any loot from bag anymore.

    Reggiew, there was a bug with the 1.0-2 release that had that issue, please get the 1.3c beta release. Also, you can now use /lbsettings to configure it without the need of a macro.

    Bug where you cant move items if there is no bindings setup up using /lbsettings fixed in 1.3cBeta.

    New capability: When you select meta-none in /lbsettings that meta key will brag for any click!

    Those with the issue, are you using any other bag related addons?
    I have tested 1.0rel - 1.1b rel and only see the behavior described when the binding is set to none-Left, if you change it to shift-Left do you have the problem any longer?

    If that is it, would people prefer that none-left would pick up the item and brag at the same time? When sorting your inventory that might be annoying....but I can add an option for that behavior.

    Is anyone other then gadgetfl seeing 1.0 in the settings title bar when they have 1.1 installed (b doesn't make the change).

    To clerify b should say 1.1 in the settings title as well, it doesn't say 1.1b

    Also, when it starts up you should see the version in chat, if it is saying 1.0 there then I really believe you may have 1.0 installed.

    With my current 1.1b install from curse I only see this behavior if you have no "meta" key selected in the settings and the left click selected. Since the idea was not to interact with the backpack when you were bragging about an item that seems like correct behavior to me? If I make it in settings alt-left click then I can move items as normal. none-left click doesn't make sense to have bind to me, but I still gave it an option. Would people perfer if none-left click worked AND still picked up items in the bag for moving?
