Nemesis
A combat and warning system that alerts you about certain players in PvP, and dynamically changes based on how many times you die to or kill different enemy players. These players are known as your Nemeses and Dominations. It also tracks enemy players you manually add that you want to always be alerted about and keep a score against. These players are known as Arch Enemies.
Description
Nemesis is both an alert system and a mini-game to help make PvP more interesting and informative. Your Nemeses and Dominations are always changing, while your Arch Enemy is someone you never forget about. Each of these players has its own icon associated with it that you can customize. Along with these three types of enemy players, this mod also has other features such as kill alerts, sound alerts, and a killing spree system that displays different alerts/sounds if you kill enough enemy players in a row without dieing. If you're not interested in these extra features, they can be turned off through the options window.
What is a Nemesis?
If an enemy player kills you enough times, then they become a Nemesis of yours. It's possible to have more than one Nemesis, and a player will stay your Nemesis until you are able to kill them and make a revenge kill. The number of revenge kills you make is tracked, and can be viewed in the options window.
What is a Domination?
If you're the one killing an enemy player repeatedly, then they become a Domination of yours. Like your Nemeses, you can have multiple Dominations at once, and when that enemy player kills you then they get their revenge and you are no longer Dominating them. The number of enemy players you Dominate in one life is also tracked and can be seen in the options window.
What is an Arch Enemy?
Enemy players that you manually add through the options window are stored until you remove them, and do not dynamically change like Nemeses and Dominations. These are players that you want to keep a permanent score against, called your struggle. When you add a new Arch Enemy, your struggle starts at 0 and you are tied. If you manage to kill your Arch Enemy, then congratulations because you're winning the struggle with a positive number. If you're the one that dies first, then get back on your feet and go find your Arch Enemy because you're now losing your struggle with a negative number. Every time you kill your Arch Enemy, your struggle increases by one, and every time you die your struggle decreases. The goal is to keep a positive number because that means you've killed your Arch Enemy more times than they've killed you.
Features
Kill/Sound Alerts
Different alert messages can be printed to the screen every time you make a killing blow, along with a sound. If it's just a regular enemy player, then you're alerted about who you killed. If that player was a Nemesis, then it will also display that you made a revenge kill, and if you like can play a different sound. Messages can also be displayed if you're on a killing spree, entering a frenzy or rampage after enough consecutive kills, and each of these also have their own alerts and sounds.
Target Alerts
When you target an enemy player that is currently a Nemesis, Domination, or Arch Enemy, then an alert message can be printed to the screen. The color of the alert is the same color as the icon you choose to represent each of these players.
Target Icon Window
When targeting a Nemesis, Domination, or Arch Enemy, then the icon that represents that player is shown in a window. This window can be moved, resized, or hidden through the Customize Interface menu (also known as the Layout Editor). It is recommended to place this window near your enemy target unit frame.
Hover Icon Window
When targeting a Nemesis, Domination, or Arch Enemy, then a floating icon can also be displayed above the enemy player's head. This icon will move with the player's character, and can be moved, resized, or hidden through the options window.
Scenario Summary Icons
When viewing the Scenario Summary window, icons can be shown on the player rows if they are a Nemesis, Domination, or Arch Enemy.
Information Window
The information window shows you information about all of your current Nemeses, Dominations, and Arch Enemies. Along with the enemy player's name, it keeps track of their level, career, and the number associated with that type of player (your deaths for Nemeses, your kills for Dominations, and your struggle for Arch Enemies). If the level shows as "--" or the career is a red X, then that information is currently unknown and will be updated the next time you target that player. The list can be sorted by the various columns, and if you right-click on a player's row then a menu will appear giving you the option to delete that player or convert them into an Arch Enemy. It's possible to change how many rows are displayed and the direction the window grows through the options window.
High Scores
The number of revenge kills you make, the most kills you make in one life, and the most dominations you make in one life are permanently tracked and can be viewed in the options window.
Options Window
The options window allows you to change, enable, and disable many of the features of this mod. It can be opened by typing "/nemesis", or if LibSlash isn't installed then type "/script NemesisConfig.Open()" (or put it in a macro). You can do things such as show numbers along with the icons, change how many deaths/kills are required for Nemeses and Dominations, take screenshots when you kill a Nemesis, disable the extra chat messages, or clear all of your current Nemeses or Dominations. This is also where you can view your high scores, and add/remove Arch Enemies.
Profiles
All of your Nemeses, Dominations, Arch Enemies, and settings are stored seperately for each character you have.
