Pet Synergy aims to give the player better control over the character's pet.

First Pet Synergy allows dragging pet abilities to the action bar to be used like other abilities.

Furthermore Pet Synergy allows the player to configure the priorities of the pet abilities with a simple drag-and-drop interface.

Unlike other pet addons, Pet Synergy has no hardcoded tables of ability ids and priorities supplied by other players with high-level characters. Instead Pet Synergy "studies" the pet abilities of the character by monitoring used and new abilities.

Using Pet Synergy the player can control his pet as if it is an integral part of the character - creating synergy between the two! ( :-) )

Please read the notes carefully as they contain a lot of important information.

TODO List

  • Improve the combat engine (please provide feedback).
  • Allow dragging from the default pet bar.
  • Allow distinction between ordering the pet to attack the character's target or attack its own target when clicking abilities.
  • "Auto-attack my target" mode.
  • Create drag-able buttons to control the pet stance (passive/aggressive/defensive).
  • Flip buttons between pet modes (perhaps also pet buttons).
  • Code cleanup.

    Any chance to get the passive stance fixed? It is really getting annoying having to chase your pet around. I really love this addon but this feature is only thing that stops me from using it on my herder :/

    I'm having a trouble with the pet auto attack my target feature. It worked for the longest time, but now it does not. I tried uninstalling and re-installing multiple times and it will not work.

    Just to let everyone know that work on Pet Synergy is still under way.

    I was on holiday for a long time and now got back to "real life". Between the landing, unpacking, work and a slight motorcycling accident (on the first day after landing...:-\), I am struggling to find the time to work on Pet Synergy right now.

    However I'm confident that this weekend will see the final push of this rewriting effort, and 0.2.0 out the door. At which point I'm sure Pet Synergy will enter a "quiet production" mode where incremental changes will be easier to write, stable and frequent.

    Sorry for the long wait and thanks for the support.

  • I'm looking forward to the update!

    Just a bravo to you. In the default pet window, if you use one of the pets abilities with a cooldown, (say 30 seconds), then change stance, then go back to the original stance, the fact that the ability is cooling down is not shown.

    Your mod updates it so you know the ability still has a cooldown, I love it!

    Just so you're all aware - I am currently doing a very big rewrite of Pet Synergy's code. This has become necessary as Pet Synergy has become far from a small piece of code and because I unlike Equipment Sets I wanted to do the cleanup first because the more you wait the harder it is.

    Anyway I've been doing this for almost a week now and still am. But I hope to finish shortly, at which point beta 0.2.0 will be available. I hope to include a few of the items in the TODO list when I finish the rewrite, so 0.2.0 should contain a few additions compared to 0.1.1.

    My four pets don't fit in the "Ability Priorities" section of the Pet Synergy options window. The first three fit perfectly, but the fourth overlaps the "Pet Abilities" section at the bottom. Just a cosmetic issue...

    Oh there are more than 3 then! I was wondering.

    I actually did design everything to accomodate everything, i.e more than 3 sets, different numbers of abilities per set, etc. I just haven't finished the UI bits to make that happen.

  • Nice addon. I tried it (german version) but had to disable it again since I couldn't figure out how to disable the "auto attack my target" mode. Prio of pet abilities seemed to work well so :)

    Yes I have the same problem myself. The reason for that is that in order to control the pet abilities, Pet Synergy has to issue them directly, which is equivalent to pressing the action bar button. This in is considered by the game the same as targeting something and casting any other non-pet ability: i.e it is directed at your current target.

    There are ways around it and this is one of the things I want to resolve sooner, so watch this space. :-)

    This addon also seems to over-ride Passive mode and set it automatically to Defensive. This causes my Lion to automatically run and attack my target even when I only use Axe Toss to get an enemy's attention.

    I don't have a problem with my pet always attacking the same target as me, which you already know about and are working on, but I would like my Passive mode functionality back also please.

    OK, I've fixed all the bugs I could find (there were actually two major ones and a minor one).

    I have now tested PEt Synergy thoroughly with NAMBLA installed, in and out of scenarios, deaths, everything with full debugging on - not a squeak. Debug logs stays completely empty.

    The new version (0.1.1) has been uploaded awaits approval, so it should become available shortly.

    Please try it and let me know what you think.

    OK, I think I know why Pet Synergy isn't playing nicely with other addons. I'm going to change it and release another beta version, which hopefully will become the release candidate.
