The One Ring

Yet another in my range of "Oi Myffic, why aint this de default?" tools.

Adds extra comparison tooltips to the jewelry and pocket slots to show what other jewelry/pocket items you have instead of just the first worn in the first slot.

Please note: I don't have any pocket items to test this with, but it should work =)

Installation Guide

Exit "Warhammer Online" completely
Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
  - Windows XP has a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
  - WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
  - WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
Verify your WAR Installation Path
That is where you are running WAR from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
Move to the Addon folder
- Open your Warhammer Online folder. (default is C:\Program Files\Warhammer Online\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
Start Warhammer Online

Translations

When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of WAR. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".

With NPC Price addon disabled it does the same thing. I can upload screens again if needed. They just need to put this in the game themselves this is to menial of a problem for you to have to worry with when its eventually going to be added im sure ;]

All depends on how many windows you have open, and where the item is in your bag. Like in the pictures that situation can be easily fixed by closing one of the windows, but at the auction house its kind of a pain. But I just reproduced the problem so Wobin could take a look.

Also obviously resolution is going to have lots to do with it I guess. I run at 1280x1024 and also get the AH overlap

I'm currently hijacking to a certain extent the existing Mythic code to determine where the tooltip window gets placed.

Basically it checks if the tooltip placed is on the edge of the screen and then attaches it to the left or rightmost tooltip available (depending on which edge it's too close to), this results in some tooltips popping off to the right of the main tooltip.

I've adjusted it to check if any tooltips are overlapping, and if so, to move it above or below that current tooltip, depending on which vertical half of the screen it resides in. The original code that places it on the left or rightmost tooltip is still in action, however.

I'm not sure that I can get it put in a nice 4x4, as it might not fit into every resolution available. Of course, once you get down to a certain resolution, the game simply cannot fit that many tooltips into that amount of screen real estate, so tooltips overlap.

Could I get screenshots of those issues where the tooltips go over one another?

Would be lovely if when it expanded it put the 4 you have equipped as a box (2x2) and the one you are looking at a little separated or not aligned, so its obvious which one is which.

Right now it takes a bit of scanning to see which one is the one i am not equipping then scan over the ones i have, since it can be pretty much anywhere.

Same problem as Luf: the way that the items expand, sometimes the game can't fit it all on screen, and actually starts displaying stuff over each other, meaning you can't see it.

If seen the mod both expand left to right, and top to bottom. Dunno why that changes, but it happens. The 'fix' right now is to have my backpack/character panel always at the top left....

very handy addon, and should indeed be default in the game. is there any chance the item windows could grow differently? As they only grow straight to the right, if i got my item window further to the right i cant see all of them, they get stacked on top of each other or something.

It did not show multiple pocket items when i had 2 equipped and another in the bag, just the first one showed.

I had an issue with this addon where when I hovered over accessories in my character window (not in my inventory) all the others were coming up too in all overlapping and I couldn't tell which item I was hovering over.

It worked just fine for me in the inventory, however. Everything came up in a nice line and I was able to see the stats for the not-equipped and all the equipped accessories.

The auction mod person can fix their addon to work with Preciousss and other tooltip mods. =) Hopefully Mythic will make this addon obsolete soon.

So I think the auction mod might be my problem. My friend has precious and it works great for him. The only differences we have is that I have vista, the beta client, and auction mod. Auction mod is the kicker. Thanks for the awesome mod though, hopefully Mythic willfix it themselves.

If trying to view the tooltips for jewels in the AH, often the case is that the actual auctioned item's tooltip will be hidden beneath your equipped jewel tooltips :S

Hmmmmm for some reason my last post isn't showing but I hope I am not repeating myself. I uninstalled the Auction Addon and when I log in next time, I will see how it works then. Thanks for checking in on it.

Okay, I discovered why it doesn't work. AuctionStats has some bad code that replaces the game tooltip, so any other addon that tries to modify the tooltip fails. Until that addon gets fixed, it will not work well with any other tooltip addon like Preciousss.
