  • About Quick Performance Toggle
  •

This is a very small and very simple addon to make it easier and quicker to pick different performance settings when for example approaching a heavily sieged fortress or keep.

To toggle the performance either use the slash command /perf# (with LibSlash installed) or /script perf#() (without LibSlash or for use in Macros). Replace # with one of the letters/numbers below. Also note, there is no space character between "perf" and the additional letter/number! LibSlash is not required to use this addon.

L: Activate the low quality/high performance profile.
M: Activate the medium quality/medium performance profile.
H: Activate the high quality/low performance profile.
C: Toggle between both custom profiles (activating either first or second profile)
1: Activate the first custom profile.
2: Activate the second custom profile.

Example
To activate the high quality profile, type /perfH or /script perfH()

  • Patch 1.3.3 adds PERF_LEVEL_VERY_HIGH for the "Oooh, shiny!" video setting. I'm not sure if tmpst is still watching this project, but it's not too difficult to add to the lua file yourself.

  • In case you use the WarBoard_Toggler, I'll update it soon enough.

    I can get the macro function to work or the C command, neither with script or without. When i try to use the /perfC i just get the message "Unknown command /perfC" My macro looks like this, /script perfC(). I have tried to install the newest libslash without any luck. am i doing something work or has it just not been updated for newest patch or something?

    You're sure you picked the right download? How about other toggles (like H, M, L, 1 or 2)?

    I've enabled localization and added a simple phrase telling the preset loaded: http://war.curseforge.com/projects/quickperf/localization/

    Some help in translating it to other languages is very appreciated. ;)

  • Is there a way to add to the script to tell us we have Custom 1 or custom 2 loaded? I'm a script nub so i have no idea how to do this but id just like it to say somewhere " Custom 2 loaded" "Custom 1 loaded " etc or similar :)
    Great mod though btw :D

    Excellent work. Simple, yet effective, and no damned configuration.

    Feature request: full/window mode toggle: http://war.curseforge.com/projects/quickperf/tickets/1-fullscreen-toggle/

    Do we really need it? You're already able to use 'Alt + Return' to toggle Fullscreen/Windowed Mode. It's sometimes a little bit buggy but as far as I know that happens when using UI code as well.

    Aha I never knew that - thanks.

    Is the key switching custom profiles remapable? or does it have to be C?

    Maybe I misunderstood and the quick toggle using the "c" key is in an upcoming version. Because it does nothing for me.

    Wait a second... I get it now.

    Great, 1.1 helped to make "heavy duty" scenes FPS friendly, by easily switching custom profiles with just one button. Thanks for the great addon!

    Just submitted version 1.1 for approval. This one will include lower case aliases ("prevents" thejestyr's problem) as well as a new option to use "C" to toggle between both custom profiles using one command/button/macro).

    An optional UI button/window should follow soon, once I've got enough time to debug it.

    Oh man, this is sooo great! Saw your answer to my question on the official WAR forum. Just the thing I was looking for.
    Regarding non-script commands, the idea with 5 different buttons sounds like a good idea. That's how ProfitReborn in EQ2 solved it.

    i can get things to work just fine using /perf# but not so much with the macros. i have three macros defined and it wont change the setting when i hit the button. any thoughts?

    /script perfh()
    /script perfm()
    /script perf1()

    use
    /script perfH()
    /script perfM()

    (note uppercase)

    capitol H, M or L mate. try that. the 1 or 2 should work for you already as it is written.

    /script perfM() not perfm()

    Guess I'll add aliases with all letters being lowercase - just have to wait for new PC to arrive so might take some time for the next update.
