A reimplementation of the /rpfilter command from DAOC for war.
Lets you replace those irritating phrases that people utter such as "m8" and "lol" with a more roleplay-friendly version.
I.e. if someone runs up to you and says "lol m8 gifv gold pls" you can have it translated into "most amusing good friend spare some gold please" which while not wonderful is better than the original ;)
NB: This will only affect your chat window, noone else's - it doesn't affect what you're saying to the world, just what you see.
You can also replace any phrase you find offensive/irritating (e.g. "heal plz") with something amusing like "I am an idiot".
Instructions:
Download and install the mod (as well as LibSlash).
Create a new chat tab (Right click on "Chat" select "Tab Options" and then "New Tab"). Once it's created right click your new tab and select "Tab Options" and "Rename Tab". Call it "Roleplay".
Now add in phrases and translations by using /rpfilter.
e.g. /rpfilter m8=friend
/rpfilter lol=most amusing
/rpfilter heal pls=I am an idiot
Your new Roleplay tab will show the same channels as your normal Chat tab but with all your substitutions applied.
(and you can always check the original message on the Chat tab)
Comments and suggestions welcome.
Todo
- Allow you to set a random list of things to say for a given phrase - e.g. map lol to "most amusing" "*chortles*" and "very funny" and have it pick one at random.
- Some sort of windowed interface for adding/removing the filters.
- Make it auto-create the Roleplay tab if it's not there already (preferably without crashing the game and doing weird stuff like it did last time I tried :p)
