  • About RV_Mods
  •

This is a collection of addons that will eventually replace many of the major UI parts, including unit frames, buffs/debuffs, alerts/cooldowns and action bars. One of the goals is to get rid of static displays and allow the player to concentrate on the game world instead.

So what's included?

RV_ModManager (late beta)

A GUI for the other mods(addons). It allows you to enable/disable and configure them. Open it with /rvmod, or by clicking the button placed right in the middle of the screen (you can move or hide the button, of course :p). This module has been completely rewrited and some logic changed now. It is moving to the stage then everyone can produce their own addon settings and show that in the RV_ModManager. Probably this addon will become a nice replacement for the UI Mods/Add-Ons window

RVMOD_Targets (v1.01)

(Screenshot) This is probably what most people might be interested in. Essentially, these are a beefed-up version of the overhead health bars. This allows you to keep track of your teammates and their status more easily. Targets also have a range indicator and change size depending on how far away they are. Features and abilities:

  1. Mouse over, friendly and hostile targets support. The following target types are available:
    • Friendly players, NPC/Monsters, static objects, and pets
    • Enemy players, NPC/Monsters, attackable static objects
  2. Warbands, groups and scenario groups support
    • paint your leader with a different template settings.
    • paint your group with a different template settings.
    • paint your warband with a different template settings.
  3. Pet support. Highly recommended.
    • see your pet position
    • see your pet health (depends on template)
  4. Unlimited number of rules/rows
  5. Unlimited number of custom templates
  6. Wysiwyg - all changes apply on the fly, no /reloadui required.
  7. Turn on and turn off at any time, while battling, or doing quests with no UI reloads

RVMOD_PlayerStatus (v1.03)

(Screenshot) Well, this isn't too interesting, it's just two bars for health/AP.

RVAPI_Entities (v0.4)

Collects an entities information in the 3D world like health, action points, RvR flags, buffs, etc.

RVAPI_Frames (v1.0)

Templates manager.

  1. Unlimited number of templates
  2. Create your own template with ease and share with others
  3. Create your crazy addon with the RVAPI_Frames and do not worry about the frames positioning on the screen
  4. Pre-defined templates:
    • Classic v1.01 - original name is RVF_Classic. Was designed and developed by silverq, the original author of this project.
    • Modern v1.0 - original name is RVF_Modern. Based on the Classic theme with much more additional options to show players career icon, health percentage, with some eye-friendly animations.
    • CleanSoul v0.1 - original name is RVF_CleanSoul. Not live yet.
    • Groupicons SG v0.1 - original name is RVF_GroupIconsSG. This template was designed by gutgut. Adapted for the RVAPI_Frames. Not live yet. Original project page: http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/groupicons-sg.aspx (ATTENTION: Groupicons SG is absolutely separated project and is not connected with the RV_Mods)
    • Pure v0.1 - original name is RVF_Pure. Not live yet. Designed by wikki in his original project Pure: http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/pure.aspx (ATTENTION: Pure is absolutely separated project and is not connected with the RV_Mods)

RVAPI_Range (v0.1)

Lightweight range finder. It is still based on your current abilities, since there are no other way to get a range value.

Planned features

(in loose order) Two more templates, to show additional information like class, action points, health bar percentages

So what does RV stand for? Several things and nothing at all, really. I wanted to use descriptive names so it would be immediately apparent what each mod does. I decided to adopt Mythic's naming schema and chose the first prefix that came to my mind. - silverq

Great mod, but imho missing one thing, that's an icon for class or target type. Could you perhaps add group members as an additional type to the first Targets/Frames-Tab? I'd like to use an own template for them, too.

    Hi Kenh,

The group members type idea is something what I am trying to develop, but it is a little bit confusing me right now. There are at least three known types of formation: a group, a warband and a scenario. I think group and warband should be merged together, and interact somehow with the scenario, so they won't overlap each other.

All other improvements like class icons, or even target type icons are very easy to implement. It could be done in a separate template by a third party team. I will start design new templates too as soon as I finish with the RVMOD_Targets and RVAPI_Entities, since those are a very critical parts to get a final release.

Template settings are not saving on exit or reloadui. I have to go in and change them all to classic each time I log in, in order to get them to work for targeting. I like the changes to the config window.

Also, the pet setting doesn't work on pets, or lions at least, they are under all npcs.

    Hi wardfan,

It works like a charm here. And I think I know what the problem is, since I had the same issue before.
The problem was with the RVMOD_Targets addon OLD settings in the \Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning\user\settings\[YourServerName]\[CharacterName]\[ProfileName]\RVMOD_Targets\ folder.

Remove the \RVMOD_Targets\ folder to reset these settings to defaults.
I will place a "Reset to Default" button in the settings window later.

Please reply if it helped. And Thanks for helping to keep this clean from the bugs ;)

I deleted all of the RV folders, did not fix. Uninstalled the add-on, and removed the RV folders, did not fix. I tried everything and I still have to go in and select "classic" every time I log in or reloadui. The colors save, just not the dropdown.

I am sorry. I Forgot to tell you have to close game window before deleting.
... Fixing that as we speak anyway...

Still does not save, oh well, I'll wait and see if it gets fixed with later releases, I can live with it (sort of :P)

    wardfan,

I analyzed my code again, and found out that in some cases templates are could not be registered before other addons starting work with them. This can be easily checked.
    1. Open debug window in the game by /debug
    2. Turn logs ON
    3. Make sure you have debug and error messages checked in the Options window
    4. Do ReloadUI button or type /reloadui
    5. Find any messages from the RV mods. There are should not be any errors but debug (yellow) messages like "API_RegisterFrame: RVF_Classic template not found!"

Report me if you found some.
    Thanks

Not sure if this version today fixed it or what, but it is saving settings now on reloadui and on full game restart, thanks. The only other thing I noticed is that the reticle doesn't show on warband members anymore, just party. Not sure if that was intended or not, haven't tested with the latest version(v0.83beta)

Started a clone so everyone can download my changes, which I am developing for three months. I am not in a rush, so don't expect to get everything you had before :)
If you don't like it - remove.

I like that you are working on this, but can you make it so the modules go in a folder (say RV_Mods like before) instead of installing 10 things into my interface folder? When you create the .zip just zip the entire folder instead of the modules, please. Hopefully you can keep this alive, I miss it.

    Hi wardfan,

    Thanks for the good question.
I understand your point. I tried that first time, but the "war.curseforge.com" automated system asked me to place all addons (currently all RV modules are officially addons) in the root of ZIP file. Probably some things has changed since the last RV_Mods update.

I hope curseforge have some tools (like providing special information for the curseforge system) to allow us to place everything in the RV_Mods folder. I gonna ask curseforge support team about that, sure they have a solution.
