  •

SquaredAssist is a plugin for Squared.
If you are not using Squared SquaredAssist will be automatically disabled.

SquaredAssist will allow you to assist players in Squared by <modifier key>-<mouse click>. Modifier key can be ALT, CTRL or SHIFT.

Use Squareds setting commands to change the following SquaredAssist related options:

assist-enabled (Default is true)
Enable (true) or disable (false) SquaredAssist.

assist-key (Default is ALT)
Set the modifier key to use for assisting. Can be one of ALT, CTRL and SHIFT - or NONE to use mouse click only.

assist-btn (Default is LEFT)
Set the mouse button to use for assisting, Can be LEFT or RIGHT.
Note: You need to relog before this change will take effect. Alternatively you can reload the ui or run the command "/script SquaredAssist.Initialize()" (without quotation marks).

assist-stop (Default is true)
If assist-stop is set to true, then if you assist a player, Squared will stop handling other click actions (for left click selecting the clicked player as friendly target, for right click showing the context menu). In detail, assist-stop changes the behavior of the one click you do to assist a player: If assist-stop is true, and you assist a player with a left click, only your enemy target changes. Your friendly target won't change. If assist-stop is false, and you assist with left click, your enemy target changes AND your friendly target will be the player you've clicked to assist.

Example: /squared assist-key ctrl

SquaredAssist should work with any language, although it is not localized (all output will be in english).

Since SquaredAssist is not orking anymore or maintained, is there any other way to assist a player in squared? for example, In Healgrid, i could assist by Middle Mouse click.

I cant make it work. I have deleted and installed again.
    "/script SquaredAssist.Initialize()" gives no answer
/reloadui gives no info about squared assist
clicking on pary members do not return their targets

/sqr assist-enabled command gives confirmation, but no effect in game...

This addon is not working for me. Whenever I relog on the values get reset. Also, when I manually set the values, they don't do anything (alt and left click are my assist-key and assist-btn).

Just to let you know, I installed SquaredAssist a while back and didnt use it for a time. Now I want to use it again, and this mod did not work until I went to /user directory and deleted the folders with squared and squared assist settings in them. After doing so, I logged back in and everything works perfectly.

And I have been keeping it up to date. Somehow something in the settings got mixed up I guess.

Are Squared settings beeing saved? SquaredAssist doesn't save it's configuration by itself, it uses Squareds setting mechanism.

  • I'm having a problem with this addon not having values for anything except

    /sqr assist-enabled

Which comes out true, but if I try to type in any of the other slash commands I get nil.

Please ensure that the value for assist-enabled is in lowercase. If it isn't, this may be the problem.
Also, please test if something gets printed out when you run "/script SquaredAssist.Initialize()" (without quotation marks).

I'll also provide an updated version with a case-insensitive setting check and some more verify output on config problems this weekend.

  • Thanks for the mod btw!

I did type in lowercase, I was just wondering why none of the other slash commands like assist-btn, assist-key, and assist-true all had NIL values and not their default values. I typed them in personally, but didn't get to try it out yet. After that I re-initialized the GUI. Then ran /script SquaredAssist.Initialize(), which gave:

SquaredAssist is enabled, using ALT-RIGHT click, stop is true. So I'm guessing its working properly.

One last thing on a slightly unrelated note. If I have RIGHT-ALT enabled will that conflict with ISHealbot still or is that only a left mouse button issue?

    Thanks again.

    You're welcome :).

If SquaredAssist.Initialize() prints out enabled and configured key and button then it should work.
Normally the Initialize method should be called every time the ui loads.
I hope it's working for you now.

There should be no conflict with ISHealBot, if there are no overlapping configured modifier/buttons. If you haven't set an action for ALT-RIGHT in ISHealBot, then both addons should work together. This concerns all setting possibilities (left or right click, ...). Just don't configure one combination in both addons.

  • Is it possible to assist only with a right-clik button with no modifier key ?

Next version will include this option.

Hm, not yet. This would replace Squareds own right click action (context menu). But it wouldn't be a problem to implement this option, so i'll may include this option.

What is the point of the assist-stop parameter?
It seems to behave exactly the same no matter if set to true or false.

If assist-stop is set to true, then if you assist a player, Squared will stop handling other click actions (for left-click selecting the clicked player as friendly target, for right click showing the context menu).

sry, it should read "I have assist on left mouse + SHIFT and..."
comments don't support brackets or editing.

I don't know the timeframe (in milliseconds) how short squared is supposed to stop handling clicks, but I can't recognize any click-lock.
I have assist on + and immediately after assisting someone I can left click another friendly target or shift-left click another assist again, and that works under both "assist-stop" settings exactly the same.

Not that I do want to have a lock anyway (don't understood the use of this function in the first place), just saying though.

There is no lock for further clicks.

The assist-stop changes the behavior of the one click you do to assist a player:

If assist-stop is true, and you assist a player with a left click, only your enemy target changes. Your friendly target won't change.

If assist-stop is false, and you assist with left click, your enemy target changes AND your friendly will be the player you've clicked to assist. This is because with assist-stop false, Squareds normal click action will not be skipped if you assist with SquaredAssist.

One addition: If you're using ISHealBot in addition, please ensure that CTRL isn't bind to any ISHealBot action.
