WAR Raid Announce v0.3
by instant (instant0@gmail.com)
____________________________________________________
Requirements:
- LIBSLASH
NOTICE: v0.3 is not compatible with v0.2.
What does it do?
- Lets you raid-shout to all warband members(*)
(* who have the addon installed. )
How does it work?
- You type "/ws damn Gits! Get over here!"
or
- You type "/wshout Damn Gits! WS was already taken!"
What happens?
- Everyone in Warband will get a nice .. big.. message on their screen
- Those without addon (and with) will also get a warband message.
Why?
- Making it more noticeable to raid members what the orders are.
Note:
The addon checks if you are considered the party leader
before it lets you send a message.
The problem with this is that sometimes (like, after a CTD)
the Party leader does not have the top spot on the sorted list
of players in a party/warband.
The addon will not let you send messages with /ws unless you
have the top spot in a warband party, because you are not set
as "isGroupLeader" unless you have that position.
Alternative approach is to
- Disable the check
- Hack a more correct check into the game (and allowing Assistats
as well).
- Wait for Mythic to let you check who is a party leader without
having to send a / command to the server, then parsing the returning
error message.

TODO:
- Ensure that only WARBAND Leader can use the /ws command.
In the meantime, you can just kick players who abuse it ;-)

Changes in v0.3
- Play a sound whenever a message appears
- Only "Party Leader" can send messages
- Changed the text. Not compatible with v0.2.
Installation Guide
- Exit "Warhammer Online" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP has a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Verify your WAR Installation Path
That is where you are running WAR from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your Warhammer Online folder. (default is C:\Program Files\Warhammer Online\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start Warhammer Online
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of WAR. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
