Waiting for attackers trying to raid your keep? Waiting for the Public Quest to restart? Just crafting and being bored? Waiting for party members to come online?
How about playing some games in the meantime without leaving WAR?
This addon will add small mini games to Warhammer Online's game interface.
Right now development is at a very early stage. Consider this package as a "preview". Right now you're able to play alone only but I'll try to add "multiplayer support" for future games.
Feel free to post suggestions, feedback, game ideas, etc.
Optional dependencies
LibSlash: Install this addon to get access to the easier "/play" command.
LibAchievements: Install this addon to get access to the new tome achievement pages.
Playing games
The main interface (to launch games etc.) is still missing and I just added some quick functions to get it working/playable.
To play a game either use /script wargames.PlayGame("GAMENAME") or /play GAMENAME (if you've got LibSlash installed). Replace GAMENAME with the name in brackets found below.
Available games
Pairs (pairs)
Try to find all matching pictures. You're allowed to turn two cards at one time.
Tic-Tac-Toe (ttt)
Try to complete a full row before the computer is able to do so. Player plays gold, computer plays blue. The starting player is picked randomly.
Gems (gems)
Swap gems to create lines or rows with 3 or more gems. They'll disappear and grant you additional time. The game is over once your time ran out. The timer will stop while the window is hidden/closed.
Localization
If you'd like, try to translate missing phrases on the
project page.
Installation Guide
- Exit "Warhammer Online" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP has a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Verify your WAR Installation Path
That is where you are running WAR from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your Warhammer Online folder. (default is C:\Program Files\Warhammer Online\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start Warhammer Online
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of WAR. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
