I don't know why, it says "use your existing Curse account", but it tell me i'm using wrong password/nonexistent account.
I even used WireShark to confirm i'm using proper credentials... no go.

Where does it say use your existing account? I just glanced at the page but didn't see it at all.
However you'll have to register for a new account since it's using a different auth server.

That is... and the "The Curse Network website" on top of that, on the AION logo.

Hi AnrDaemon,
Not all of our network sites use a unified login due to the technology differences between some of the websites we've brought into the network and Curse.com. We're working to get them all updated but it hasn't happened yet.
That said, I'm not seeing what you're seeing. Can you please give us a link to the page?

Well, if that the case... it's understandable.
And, sorry, I started from a bit of misinformation. Actually, this was a text on aionarmory. http://www.aionarmory.com/login.aspx
But case is still the same.

I was just able to log in to Aion Armory with my Curse credentials.
You're logging in with the same username/password as here on Curse.com?

Well, it's expected.
Authentication is done through foreign domain, which is fine by itself, if coded properly.
Looks, it isn't. Want a conversation dump to debug the issue?

BTW, similar issue is with wowace.com - when I try to login, it flips through many redirects, then telling me that "There was an error with cookies, please try again."

I know Opera has had issues in the past because we set cookies on redirects and a bug in Opera prevented that from working properly.

It works as intended, to my knowledge. If you set a cookie without a domain, it set for domain that sent it.
F.e. NCsoft doing auth through foreign host on their support site and it works without an issue.
I also have no issues tracking my logged state on LJ.com (assuming i've allowed cookies for specific journal)

P.S.
And no, setting cookies for foreign domains will not work either... I have them intentionally blocked and I do not wish to lessen this security setting.
