I've used curse client for as long as its been out now, I use a select set of addons i know what i have installed and don't ever download anything else as i already have installed the addons i need, I check curse client everyday for updates and update when appropriate.
I checked curse client today for any updates and as i looked through my list of installed addons i noticed a name of an addon i have never seen or heard of before and thats PULLER ALARM.
Because i never realised what it was and know for an absolute fact i
have not installed any addons in a long while i right clicked it and went to view addons website to get to the curse page for this addon and the addon doesnt even exist.
I googled for the name of this addon and cannot even find a reference to it on google either, This has just appeared out of nowhere on curseclient with no trace of it anywhere on my system or any trace of the addon even existing.
Should i worry about this in anyway because its seems extremely strange , I have a rock solid anti-virus system so theres no worry there for me but it still seems like theres something strange going on.

I can't seem to find this addon on Curse at all.
The list of addons you're refering to is from the Curse Client correct?
In order to alleviate your fears about a virus/etc go to your addon folder, and find the puller alarm entry. Look through the files there and you should only see lua/toc/xml files (maybe a .txt).
Can you provide me a list of all your addons that you have installed please?

The list im talking about is the list from cure that is in the "Your Addons" Section.
There is no trace of the addon itself in any game files addon or even WTF/saved variables.
The link at the bottom of the addon info tab on curseclient is showing the installation folder as being part of GathererDB_Wowhead.

The only 2 addons not shown there are ammo-matique and parrot (which is the one thats out of date).

That's how i found out it doesn't exist the any link that would normally direct you to the addon page just re-directs you to http://wow.curse.com/msgs/default.aspx?MessageId=9.
That's the error page thats says "The post you requested cannot be found or no longer exists. The administrator or moderator may have deleted the post.".

I done as someone above mentioned it to un-install it the way you normally would with curse client but it's still extremely strange for this non-existent addon to appear in curse client just out of nowhere.

I have the same add on which just recently appeared on my curse client out of the blue.
When I tried to go to the Curse site to find more info, I get the following message:
The post you requested cannot be found or no longer exists. The administrator or moderator may have deleted the post.

I'm having the same experiences as those noted by the previous posters.
Where did this "puller alarm" thing come from? I have no recollection of explicitly installing it, and like one of the previous posters, I'm careful / selective about what I install.

The author of that addon looks like his name is Pestilenz ? Am I spelling it correctly?

Ok this should be solved.
If you have puller alarm installed on the client, close the client, manually delete it and you shouldn't get it again.

I just found Puller Alarm in my list of Addons today for the first time as well. It was at the bottom of my list, as I have them sorted by date, so I don't know how long it was there before I noticed it.
I uninstalled it as Ackis wrote, will let you know if it comes back.
I'm curious about what happened here! Was it an extension of the Gatherer Database addon, or did someone stealth-install it somehow, or what?

I also found the Puller Alarm addon on my Curse client just now..as I was very curios about it (never heard of puller alarm before???), I checked at curse.com and could not find anything on puller alarm...
I am a bit worried right now, and how did the puller alarm installed without me knowing?

I definitely did not download this addon via the Curse Client yet it appeared in my list of installed addons in the client. I could not find anything in the GathererDB folder that it pointed to.
I deleted and ran scans, with no malware or virus found so far.
Scary though that Curse knows of it and lists it.

Same here and no trace of it in the addon folder direct. I dont install addons via the client either, I usually manually install then use the client to keep them updated.

It looks like it was the result of a couple brain farts, on the author, moderation team and curse development team.
The author basically uploaded another mod on accident.
The moderator (me probably :P) approved it and it got through.
At that point in time there were no warnings coded in saying "this matches something else, red alert!". Now there is however. :)
It wasn't anything bad installed on you, just something you didn't want.
